We understand that someone’s need for short-term care can vary from a sudden occurrence to requiring a personal support person. In order to meet the needs of an emergency situation, we provide immediate respite and short-term accommodation options, including individual and group housing choices.

Flexibility in Respite Care

Our services are flexible, as we prioritise meeting both your needs and those of your family or caregivers. So we do not have a minimum duration for our short-term respite care – you can stay for as little as a few hours or for as long as a couple of weeks. We can also provide respite care in the comfort of your own home.

Whether you opt to stay in your home, in our housing, or in holiday accommodation, you will still have access to our experienced team of support workers. They can provide assistance with your daily needs during this time, including personal care, nursing, meals, transport, therapy, and community participation. Our support can be provided 24 hours a day, or on a drop-in basis – whatever you require.

Here at St Jude’s, we recognise the contribution and needs of the families, friends and carers who regularly support individuals with disabilities. Our short-term offerings are designed to provide primary caregivers with any assistance that they require, to make things easier and more convenient.

When Do You Need Short-Term Accommodation Or Respite Care?

Are you leaving the hospital shortly and need support until you are fully recovered? Or maybe you are unable to find accommodation, and need short-term or medium-term accommodation or respite care? Your primary carer is not available for a short term period or do they need holidays? St Jude’s is here to help. We offer a variety of emergency care arrangements, including both individual and group homes. Our respite care can be for whatever length of time you need, as there is no minimum duration, and we are always flexible and willing to cater to your requirements.

Do you like holidays and being away from home to stay in a beautiful hotel, resort, beach house? St Jude’s NDIS services can help you. Our short term accommodation options extends to interstate holidays or a home away home options in our of our beautiful disability houses. We have quality accommodation including fully accessible and will coordinate the support you need during your stay.

No matter where you decide to stay, you’ll have access to our experienced team of caring support workers who can provide assistance with all your daily needs. Personal care, nursing, meals, transport, and community and social participation are just some of the ways we can support you. Our services can be provided 24/7 or on a drop-in basis, whatever suits your needs.

Medium-term Accommodation

Here at St Jude’s, our main priority is your safety and comfort during a difficult time in your life. It can be traumatic to experience a sudden injury or incident which means you have to enter short-term accommodation or respite care, so we ensure that you have a variety of support options to choose from. Sometimes you will end up needing to stay in supported accommodation a bit longer than expected, and for this we offer medium-term accommodation. This way, you can stay for as long as you require in our high-quality, comfortable housing, with a support worker on call, ready to help you with anything you need.

Here at St Jude’s, we offer more than 80 high-support accommodation options, which are home to our diverse range of clients. We acquire new homes for our clients each month, as we aim to meet your preferences and give you a variety of choices for your place to live. Funding For Respite Care

As a registered NDIS short-term accommodation provider, our accommodation and respite services are available to participants who have the appropriate NDIS funding.
