From race cars to the football field: Meet Dylan!

St Jude’s are proud to work with a diverse range of individuals with interests varying from sports, music, the arts and socialising among peers.

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Dylan who has been a client with us since graduating from high school in 2018. Dylan has worked with St Jude’s support worker Danielle for almost three years and keeps extremely busy participating in work his hobbies throughout the week. At St Jude’s, we love seeing what our staff and clients are getting up to, so we thought we would share an update for you too.

Dylan is currently working three days a week, supported to and from work by Danielle. He is extremely passionate about cars; last year, Danielle and Dylan took to the Barbagallo Raceway to experience some hot laps with an accompanied professional driver.

In addition to working each week, Dylan is passionate about AFL and a huge supporter of the Hawthorn Hawks. He also plays for Coolbinia Football Club and Danielle supports Dylan to training on Thursday evenings.

We asked Dylan a few questions about his passion for football; check out what he had to say!

How long have you had a passion for football?

Since 2017

What made you want to start playing football?

I love the Hawthorn Hawks and now it’s my favourite thing to do.

What’s your favourite thing about playing football?

Kicking the ball, especially with my mates and hanging with the team.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Hopefully playing for the Hawks.

Check out some photos of Dylan enjoying the race cars and playing football with his local team. We enjoy supporting you to participate in the activities you love, Dylan!
