Benefits of Attending a Disability Expo

  1. Information
Disability expos are a great opportunity for family members of people with disabilities to learn about the latest products, services, and support available for them in the field of disability services.
If you’re a disability service provider, or employed in the disability sector as a plan manager or support coordinator, attending an expo will help you stay on top of the latest research in this ever-evolving industry. This will allow you to better handle your clients and promote improvement in their daily lives.
  2. Professional advice
At a disability expo, you can get the knowledge and resources necessary straight from the experts themselves.
Most of these events are free to attend, and exhibitors feature their services or products– which will allow you to try out some of the accessibility tools for yourself and have direct conversations with allied health practitioners representing the service providers. Don’t hesitate to ask questions and gather as much information as you can regarding a product or service that will benefit you or your loved one.
  3. Understand NDIS plans
Navigating the NDIS system can be complex, however attending an expo can provide you with valuable information relevant to you or your loved one. By having conversations with experts in the field, you can learn more information to help you understand a NDIS plan. You can also get access to valuable advice when it comes to optimising the plan in accordance to the specific needs of the plan holder.
  4. Network
Expos also provide an opportunity to meet other professionals and families going through similar experiences.
There’s nothing more comforting than knowing that you’re not alone in dealing with the challenges of having a disability. Sharing your experiences with a group of people who understands and supports you is priceless.
  5. Have fun
    Most of all, they’re fun!
Hundreds, if not thousands, attend these expos, and organizers ensure that everyone has a great time learning, discovering new experiences, and meeting people.
