NOTICE TO ALL EMPLOYEES RE: COVID-19 (Coronavirus) – 18 March 2020

Today the federal Government announced some new measures:

  • All Australians have been advised “do not travel abroad” this is regardless of the destination
  • A ban on non-essential indoor gatherings of 100 people or more
  • Restrictions are also being placed on visitors to aged care facilities
  • We are also recommended to continue practicing social distancing

These new measure do NOT apply to you:

  • Attending work
  • Attending work related training (these are a vital part of your role)
  • Attending school or university
  • Using public transport

What should you do:

  • You should continue to attend work as per normal
  • You must attend any training that is scheduled as a necessary part of your role
  • Facemasks are not recommended at this time unless you are caring for someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19

Please contact your supervisor if you:

    • Are unwell
    • Are being tested for COVID-19 or advised that you have had close contact with someone who has COVID-19
    • A member of your household is being self-isolated after returning from overseas
  • By promptly notifying your supervisor we can ensure that every situation is appropriately managed.

The management of St Jude’s Health Care Services & Carers Plus continue to monitor the situation closely and we will continue to adjust our approach as and if the situation changes. At this time we are restricting visitors to our aged care facility and to some of our disability homes that support our more vulnerable clients.
