Notice to visitors attending Guildford Village and St Jude’s Mental Health Facility
The information in this letter relates to the Guidelines and Prevention strategies that St Judes Health Care Services has put in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Providing a safe and healthy environment for our clients is our top priority. At this time, that means doing all that we can to limit potential exposure to the COVID- 19 viral disease.
To help protect our clients, we have implemented the following strategies;
Restriction of entry to our Residential Sites
Due to the growing concerns, only essential service providers such as doctors, food suppliers (and close family members with some conditions) are permitted to enter into our sites. The visitor must not enter if they;
have recently been unwell, been in contact with someone who is unwell or have symptoms of respiratory illness (e.g. fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, muscle and joint pain, or tiredness/exhaustion).
have been overseas or in close contact with anyone who has been overseas in the past 14 days.
have had contact with anyone who has tested positive to Covid-19 or awaiting their test result.
Removing clients from accommodation sites
Please do not remove clients from the site for social outing without the approval of the Facility Manager.
In the event of an outbreak
In the event of an outbreak, we will put our Residential Sites in lockdown and we will not allow any visitors to our accommodation sites.
All residents onsite will be subject to quarantine in the event of an outbreak.
We will be closely working with the Department of Health and following their advice as required.
What we are doing
We have a Covid-19 response team; the team is regularly monitoring the government update and making sure prevention strategies are implemented within St Jude’s and Guildford Village
Restricting visitors to the accommodation sites
We are implementing social distancing practices such as discouraging clients from attending crowded places and minimising contact with public
Entry will be limited to essential visitors/ contractors (those necessary for the client care and facility operations only)
Routine social visits have been suspended
Essential visitors/contractors will be required to sign in at the reception and answer a symptom questionnaire
