In Loving Memory of Phil Pusey

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Phil Pusey, the founder of St Jude’s.
Phil was not only a person of remarkable vision and leadership, but an individual with genuine kindness. In 1982, he established a facility for people with mental illness and those experiencing homelessness;  a quiet act that became the foundation of today’s St Jude’s.
Phil never sought recognition for his work. Despite all he achieved, he lived a simple, grounded life. He helped thousands of vulnerable people without ever wishing the world to know his name. His legacy lives not in accolades, but in the countless lives he touched directly or indirectly.
Those who knew him will remember the genuine warmth he extended to everyone he worked with. He built more than an organisation;  he created a lasting legacy grounded in values and a philosophy that continues to guide us.
As we reflect on his life’s work, we honour a man whose quiet strength, kindness, and lifelong service left a profound and enduring impact.
